Battlefields are also called Maps by Heroscape players. Modular Maps (MOPs for short) are built using a certain set of rules so that they connect quickly and easily. They have a variety of uses. Here is an example of adapting MOPs to the Campaign Scenarios designed by Hasbro in the "Swarm of the Marro" Master Set, with some alterations to those scenarios.

Hive Hunt: Part 1

Master Game for 2 Players

Required Sets: Swarm of the Marro

Player 1's Goal: Player 1 must keep all three of his Heroes alive and destroy all of Player 2's figures.
Player 2's Goal: Player 2 must destroy one of Player 1's figures.

Setup: Assemble MOPs 5131 and 5132. Then slide them together as shown. Do not lock the edges together. Place figures where shown by the following numbers:

Player 1: White
1: Sgt. Drake Alexander
2: Raelin
3: Sonlen

Player 2: Black
1: Marro Stingers
2: Marro Drudge
3: Marrden Nagrubs

Victory: Player 1 wins when all of Player 2's figures have been destroyed. Player 2 wins immediately when any one of Player 1's Heroes is destroyed.

Campaign Continues: If Player 1 wins, remove all wound markers and take one turn with each Hero. If any Hero is still on MOP 5132, move it to any unoccupied Olive colored space. Continue the campaign by playing "Hive Hunt: Part 2". The campaign continues in the direction of the edge marked with the word "Campaign".

Master Game for 2 Players

Required Sets: Swarm of the Marro

Player 1's Goal: Player 1 must keep at least four of his Heroes alive and destroy all of Player 2's figures.
Player 2's Goal: Player 2 must destroy two of Player 1's figures.

Setup: Assemble MOPs 5131 and 5132. Then slide them together as shown. Do not lock the edges together. Place figures where shown by the following numbers.

Player 1: White
1: Sgt. Drake Alexander
2: Raelin
3: Sonlen
4: Shiori
5: Major Q10

Player 2: Black
1: Marro Stingers
2: Marro Drudge
3: Marrden Nagrubs

Campaign Setup: If Player 1 is continuing from the "Hive Hunt: Part 1" scenario, the starting positions of Sgt. Drake, Raelin and Sonlen are determined by the rules of that scenario, and not by the above marked positions.

Special Rules: For the first round only, Players do not roll for initiative. Player 1 goes first.

Victory: Player 1 wins if he destroys all of Player 2's figures and has at least four Heroes on the battlefield. Player 2 wins if he destroys two of Player 1's figures.

Campaign Continues: If Player 1 wins, remove all wound markers from the surviving Heroes and take one turn with each of them. If any Hero is still on MOP 5131, move it to any unoccupied Olive colored space. If one Hero was destroyed but it was not Shiori, place the Glyph of Wannok under Shiori. Continue the campaign by playing "Hive Hunt: Part 3". The campaign continues in the direction of the edge marked with the word "Campaign".

Required Sets: Swarm of the Marro

Goal: Destroy all of your opponent's figures.

Setup: Assemble MOPs 5131 and 5132. Then slide them together as shown. Do not lock the edges together. Place the Glyph of Thorian where shown. Place figures where shown by the following numbers.

Player 1: White
1: Sgt. Drake Alexander
2: Raelin
3: Sonlen
4: Shiori
5: Major Q10

Player 2: Black
1: Marro Stingers
2: Marro Drudge
3: Marrden Nagrubs
4: Tor-Kul-Na
5: Marro Hive

Campaign Setup: If Player 1 is continuing from the "Hive Hunt: Part 2" scenario, the starting positions of Player 1's figures are determined by the rules of that scenario, and not by the above marked positions. If a figure is already on the space where the Glyph of Thorian is marked, then put the glyph under that figure before the game begins.

Victory: Be the last player with at least one figure on the battlefield to win.
