Basic Game for 2 Players

Required Sets: Rise of the Valkyrie, Malliddon's Prophecy, Utgar's Rage

Goal: Destroy all of the opposing player's figures.

Setup: Place the two glyphs of Brandar power-side up where shown.

Using their collector numbers, place figures as shown. Player 1 (Good) controls figures numbered with White markers. Player 2 (Evil) controls figures numbered with Black markers.

Teleporting: The glyphs of Brandar represent simple teleport devices. When a figure moves onto a teleport it may take its next step to another teleport if the other teleport is not blocked (see "Passing and landing on other figures" in the rule book). A figure does not have to stop after moving onto a teleport.

Victory: When the other player has no figures left on the battlefield, you win.

...continued from "Comrades Turned Enemies"

Realizing he's badly outnumbered, Utgar swallows some pride and tries to make a high-price deal with Vydar at the last second. But the deal falls through thanks to some quick thinking by Einar.

In a fit of rage, Utgar beckons directly onto the battlefield enough heroes and squads to nearly double his army. Jandar manages to beckon another hero and two squads of his own just as the battle begins.

...continued from "A Fit of Rage"

Syvarris tells Ullar that he objects to this alliance with Utgar and is extremely uncomfortable being on the same side as Krug, his natural opponent from Feyland. Syvarris then learns from Ullar that he and Jandar know the Venocs and Marros are bitter enemies and decided to stage their argument hoping Utgar would ally with him. He could then secretly use the Venocs to kill Marros one-by-one.

After a failed attempt by a Venoc Viper to destroy a Marro Warrior, Utgar beckons Su-Bak-Na, a Hivelord of the Marros along with two other powerful heroes. Ullar immediately takes his forces and returns to Jandar, but not before learning a thing or two from Utgar -- Jandar's forces rejoice at the sight of Ullar's newly beckoned hero Charos, a Dragon King of Icaria.

Vydar is afraid his mecenary business will suffer due to a lack of competitive bidding from Utgar. So he focuses his strength to beckon a large non-human hero from Feylund and sells him, at a reasonable price, directly to Utgar. He hopes this will encourage future sales with Utgar.

With Ullar's return to Jandar, Utgar knows he must attack the opposition quickly before their combined beckoning powers overwhelm him.

A Fit of Rage

Master Game for 2 Players, or 4 Players in 2 Teams

Required Sets: Rise of the Valkyrie, Malliddon's Prophecy, Utgar's Rage

Goal: Destroy all of the opposing player's figures.

Setup: Place all glyphs power-side up where shown.

Players draft or bring a pre‑made army. If 2 players, each player chooses army cards adding up to 460 points or less. If 4 players (2 on a team) each player chooses army cards adding up to 270 points or less. Army card choices must be made only from the Required Sets listed above.

Player 1 (or Team 1) chooses army cards if led by Jandar, Einar or Vydar and places the chosen figures in the olive starting zone.

Player 2 (or Team 2) chooses army cards if led by Utgar or Ullar and places the chosen figures in the purple starting zone.

For both starting zones, all players must fill the primary spaces (no "X") first and then the extended spaces (marked with an "X") if needed.

Teleporting: The glyphs of Brandar represent simple teleport devices. When a figure moves onto a teleport it may take its next step to another teleport if the figure is not huge and the other teleport is not blocked (see "Passing and landing on other figures" in the rule book). A figure does not have to stop after moving onto a teleport.

Moving from one teleport to another must be done using normal movement. For example, a figure with the Flying ability would have to land on the first teleport and step to the second one before resuming to fly.

Victory: When the other side has no figures left on the battlefield, you win. If the battle reaches the end of round 9, then the battle is over and the player or team with the most points on the battlefield wins.

In a fit of rage, Utgar beckons several heroes and squads, nearly doubling the size of his army. Jandar manages to beckon another hero and two squads of his own.

Syvarris objects to this new alliance of Ullar and Utgar and is extremely uncomfortable being on the same side as Krug, his natural opponent from Feyland. He is arrogant enough to confront his leader Ullar and Ullar is wise enough to keep this a secret from Utgar.
