Required Sets: Swarm of the Marro, Volcarren Wasteland, Ticalla Jungle
Steam Alley is a minefield of hot steam vents. The vents belch pillars of boiling steam into the air at random intervals, making passage through the alley a very dangerous prospect.

the battlefield that was activated this turn. That figure receives a wound.

1 wins if Player 2 does not control the Glyph of Brandar by the end of Round 5.
Read aloud if Player 1 wins: The battle swells to a climax. The forces of the allied generals have given their
all to keep the mechanism safe and the flood gates closed. Their efforts are enough.
An ancient magic awakens in the place, the warriors feel its power thrumming through
their bodies. The magic acts to protect itself. Utgars forces are suddenly swallowed
up in steam and are never seen again. The earth below the mechanism opens up and swallows
it. The lava flood gates remain forever sealed.
Read aloud if Player 2 wins: One of Utgar’s warriors pulls on an ancient lever and the earth begins to quake. Up
in the distance you see the long dormant flood gates cracks open. The hillside vomits
forth a burning red flow of lava. This day Utgar has won a great victory and his influence
in the southern reaches of Valhalla has clamped down to a stranglehold.
White vapor hangs in a cloud over the land. The screams of hot steam bursting forth from the ground sound off over and over again, sometimes from far off, sometimes dangerously close.
Here, in the place called Steam Alley, lays an ancient mechanism that has for many millennia kept a flood of lava flow from washing over the valley beyond. Knowledge of the mechanism’s existence has recently reached both the forces of Utgar and the forces of the allied generals. Those forces now stand assembled on the battlefield, ready to fight for control of the mechanism. If Utgar’s forces are able to trigger this mechanism, the long dormant flood gates will open, spilling lava across a large area, burning as it goes and greatly expanding the area that the menacing Obsidian Guards can roam freely.
Steam Alley is a hazardous place, those moving across its surface are always in danger of triggering a broiling hot steam vent that could badly injure or even kill them. But the task at hand is dire, and risk their lives they must. If one of Utgar’s warriors is able to trigger the lava flows, not only will the battle be lost, the entire region will be lost with it.
